Shawn Gerlach grew up in the construction industry, working with his father and brother in various capacities. After high school, he began a career in the oil and gas industry, eventually establishing his own businesses, Wildcat Gas Well Testing in 2006 and Jaguar Hydrostatic Testing in 2007. After selling Wildcat, Shawn seized upon an opportunity to work in the construction industry alongside his brother and uncle, and established Gerlach Builders in 2016.

Gonzalo has been in the construction industry for over 30 years.  His dedication to service for his country and his career has taken him to many states, such as: Texas, California, Puerto Rico, New York, New Jersey and Ohio. General construction has been Gonzalo’s main focus and he has overseen numerous kinds of projects; public and private schools, government and private office buildings, manufacturing, agricultural and warehouse facilities.

Lori has been with Gerlach Builders for 8 years and has 15 years of experience in Human Resources and operations. She also holds Bachelors Degree from Texas Tech and Masters degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University. She is responsible for policy development, Human Resources management, and employee relations.

Airika is an industry veteran. Her 24 years of work in the construction industry provides her with a wealth of construction knowledge. Airika earned an associate degree in architectural drafting Summa Cum Laude. She uses construction management software to track the activities in relation to the project's intricate plans. This enables her to keep a tight eye on requests for change proposals, owner billing, payment applications, subcontracts, and project closure paperwork. She contributes significantly to the project's prompt completion, compliance with safety regulations, and financial monitoring.

Marlene has been with Gerlach Builders for 2 years but she has 20 years of combined experience in architecture and construction. She holds a degree in Architecture and is currently pursuing an architectural license.

Keith has been around construction since he was a young child. Professionally, Keith has worked in the construction industry for 23 years. He has in-depth knowledge of building practices and regulatory compliance issues. Keith is responsible for utilizing resources to develop cost-effective plans and schedules for completion of projects.

Victor has 12 years of experience in the construction industry. He holds in-depth knowledge of building practices and regulatory compliance issues. Victor is responsible for utilizing resources to develop cost-effective plans and schedules for completion of projects.

Pepe has worked in the construction industry for 28 years. Throughout the years, he has used his strong background to supervise large and complex projects. He possesses in-depth knowledge of building practices and regulatory compliance issues.

23+ years of experience and 4 years with Gerlach Builders. Geronimo is OSHA 30, superintendent and project management Pro Core Certifications and has multiple machinery certifications. Geronimo earned his business associates at St. Edwards.

Raul has 14 years of total construction experience and has been with Gerlach Builders for 2 years. He holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Surveying and Geospatial Technology. He is responsible for Construction Supervision.

Matthew has thirty years of general construction experience, from high end retail interior finishes, to Government and commercial ground up construction. He attended the University of Texas, majoring in structural engineering. He has been with Gerlach Builders for just under a year.

Thomas has 10 years of commercial construction experience and has been with Gerlach Builders for just a few months. He manages and documents all phases of construction on-site. He holds a 30 hour OSHA certification, superintendent and project management Pro Core Certifications,

Michael has 10 years of construction experience and has been with Gerlach Builders for 10 months. He is responsible for day-to-day on-site management of construction activities including helping to maintain the project progress schedule, coordinating work with internal resources and subcontractors, preparing material takeoffs, material management and interfacing with customers.

Arnold has been in the construction industry for 20 years, spending most of that time with Gerlach Builders.

Luis has been with Gerlach Builders for 4 years. He has assisted in different aspects of construction from estimating, scheduling, proposals, purchasing, submittals, coordination with design teams, and construction of both residential & commercial projects.

Madison has been with Gerlach Builders for just under a year now but brings over 2 years of experience in marketing. She is a proud graduate of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Madison handles social media, websites, merchandise, and communication between our partners.

Rachel has been with Gerlach Builders for 2 years and has 3 years experience in the construction industy.

Juliette has been with Gerlach Builders for 8 years and has over 17 years of experience in accounting in the Rio Grande Valley.

Frank Mina has been with Gerlach Builders for 27 years and he has over 27 years experience in construction.

Horacio has 2 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager. He joined Gerlach Builders in 2024. He earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Drafting and Design Technology with 14 years of drafting experience and 10 years of total construction experience.

Jose takes pride in his role with Gerlach Builders, where he does a little bit of everything including carpentry work, plumbing and electrical, door hardware ( closer. exit device, threshold ,etc.), rest rooms accessories (grab bars , mirrors , toilet partitions.), and installing the signs for the job site.

Juan has been with Gerlach Builders for 3 years. He boasts 8 years of experience in construction. He is also OSHA-30 Certified.

Jason has been with Gerlach Builders for 1 year but 5 years of experience in construction in the Rio Grande Valley. He is OSHA-10, OSHA-30, and OSHA-510NCCER and LEED Certified. He is responsible for the daily routes of all projects and overseeing all safety aspects. 

Sylvia has been with Gerlach Builders for 2 years but has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Sylvia is also LEED certified. She oversees project goals, creates and delivers reports, analyzes data from project execution, and any other duties as determined by the Project Manager.

Fabian has been with Gerlach Builders for over 6 years at Gerlach Builders and has over 6 years in construction. He holds an Applied Science Degree in CAD. He oversee projects from start to finish, project management meetings and owner meetings, and the production of Superintendents and Sub-Contractors. Fabian also replies to all ASI’s, RFI’s, and RFP’s.

We'd like to remember our mentor and friend Ted Gerlach.

Ted had 50 years’ experience in the construction industry. As Vice-President of Operations, Ted completed a variety of projects, including: schools, office buildings, fast food restaurants, housing projects, jail and church buildings. Ted was an avid member of the community. He attended St. Paul Catholic Church and had served on the St. Paul Catholic Church board in the past. Ted was previously a member of the Mission Chamber of Commerce, a longtime volunteer with Texas Citrus Fiesta for 40 years and served as a member of the Lions Club for 15 years. Theodore "Ted" Gerlach, 75, passed away on July 28, 2021, at his residence after a fight with Pancreatic Cancer. Ted made his impact in our company as well as with everyone who met him.
